Why do i need to flush my system ?

This is very important you understand why you need for central heating system powerflushed.

Heating systems if not correctly maintained can build up corrosion very quickly. The simple purpose of a Central Heating Powerflush, is to remove this corrosion build and prevent any further damage. However!, firstly i feel it is important for you to understand why corrosion has built up and why the need for a powerflush can be essential.

Powerflushing Why ?

Fresh water especially in the UK is full of so many chemicals which is damaging to the system and boiler. One of the main elements is O2, Oxygen.

Our water when filling the system, either via you increasing your combi boilers pressure or you header tank automatically filling the system when it loses water.

Our water should always be neutralised with an inhibitor to prevent the oxygen from reacting with the inner body of radiators causing them to slowly corrode.

When the system drops pressure air is then held in the system, when mixed with the fresh oxygenated water, the corrosion process rapidly speeds up.

Creating SLUDGE!. Which eventually builds up and is the cause 95% of all breakdowns.

A powerflush of your central heating system can cost from £250 to £550 depending on many factors. I myself worked with British Gas for many of years, I know that the cost of a British Gas Powerflush ranges from £600 upwards.
